Bit Map - http://nixanz.com/ios/bitmap/ is a pretty good GPS platform. It allows you to use the inbuilt GPS to locate yourself on OziExplorer maps, no reception required - cost is about $5.00 but you have to get your own copies of OziExplorer maps. I also use Headway from the same company. It allows you to mark a waypoint and then provides you with an arrow pointing to the waypoint - can be fairly useful.

Won't break the bank but you will need to set up payment options on your iTunes a/c

Hey.. we don't all have iPhones.

          Good android apps:

*Fuel log* Records your fuel consumption, repair/service costs. Whatever you spend actually

*Speed view* GPS speedo cos Prado speedos suck and can put on dash with HUD and turn dash lights right down. Great for long dist travel at night.

          *Clinometer* Pitch, yaw and compass

*Drive safe* Reads out txt messages. (Turn off if mother in car)

Finding it was easy, but buying it?? I looked everywhere for the buy it icon but gave up after half an hour as I couldn't work it out. My teenage son pointed out that you need to click on the price to buy it Stupid F*&^NG computers, who was the genius that came up with that dumb idea, what about an Icon that says buy now............. oh that would make sense and computers aren't meant to make sense!

            Cheers Andrew

Motion X GPS-HD and VMS 4x4. I haven't tried the Hema Maps and I wasn't prepared to pay for both VMS and Hema.

Anyone using WAZE - GPS map in Social Media level? Its free for download, I am using it in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. In Singapore, you can have real time infor from front vehicle like road work, accident, traffic jam etc.

Also, anyone who knows any walkie talkie app which can be used on 3G and wifi? There are a couple using wifi only.

                Thanks.

Ditto - early incarnation wasn't up to par with the Windows phones of the time, now they are leaps and bounds ahead. When TomTom finally became available for the iPhone that's what clinched it for me.

I prefer Metroview over tomtom and at $14.95 can't be beat IMO.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

Yes, Metroview is good for Oz, it's what the RAC uses and it has good coverage of speed cameras etc - the advantage of TomTom is it's free if you don't need the traffic updates and, if you pay, you can get traffic updates if you want them (saved me from some massive jams on a couple of occasions).
