Ive been playing with what this is all about and comparing it to a situation more than 10/15 years ago . I was living in Europe and the country i was in loved diesel engines , so much so 2 out three were diesel .... anyways a friend had a large performance Opel . they were fairly popular and enjoyed , but this friend had his almost break down due to no power , he couldn't drive it over 80 and struggled to get there , . long story short his DPF was clagged . the dealer realised that this is a person that doesnt drive over 80 klm ever, and even on the highway he rarely went over that anyways. ...
they repaired his engine by 4th gear on the highway at 100 kph for 15 minutes . once in the morning and again in the arvo , . the temperature of the engine raised and it literally burned out all the carbon from the chamber and valves it also burned all the soot clagging his DPF ..... A very inexpensive fix..
So the problem is real temperature , and giving your vehicle a bit of a thrash , and you will not need to worry about your burn off any more ... instead of speeding, lower your gears on the highway , raising your rpm over 3000 for 10/15 minutes , say once every two mounths and you will find your engine to be the happy smooth piece of engineering it was meant to be...
