  • Accessory battery replacement.

G'day people,I'm looking for advice on what battery to use for the accessories side of my dual battery setup. The previous two batteries I used in this position were just Heavy Duty Exide 720's . They did the job well ,however I'm only averaging 4-5yrs out of them (this may be good?) @ approx $170.00 a pop.
I need a replacement again, and figure there may be a more suitable battery out there for this application.I only run a 40ltr Engel and some lighting off this side and more often than not the car sits idle.Durability, longevity performance and price are the criteria.(not asking much!)
    Thanks for any input.Leo.

I just use the Exide Extreme as a second battery - same use as yours basically, getting about 4-5 years too.
Don't see any reason to go to anything fancier. Can pick one up anywhere for less than $200 if it goes crook - thats $40 a year, not too bad.

I chose the Extreme because it has both a CCA rating and a amp hour rating. ( which I take to mean it can handle both starting and light cycling )
      Cheers, Wayne

Thanks fellas, that's the direction I'll probably go again, the RAA here deliver and install a fresh'n and the price is competative too.
