  • floor mats and seat covers.

    Hi,

I am still working out how to find things on this website sorry.

I am just after peoples opinions and advice on car seat covers and floor mats for our 2016 prado gxl.

We have been looking at the canvas Supafit car seat covers for all 3 rows and the 3D floor mats, but are also considering the sandgrabba mats and the global automotive accessories seat covers in Neoprene. We have kids and they are great mess makers and I constantly have mud and dirt on me from work, also we live on a property so mud and dirt are always on everything really.

Any comments or info would be greatly appreciated thanks!

    I've got young kids too.

We've had MSA canvas seat covers (https://msa4x4.com.au/catalogue/canv...set-msa-4x4-5/) in our Prado for 2 years now, and they're great -- seats are protected, water proof, and easy to clean. I'm definitely sold on canvas seat covers. I think canvas will wear less than neoprene over time. They are expensive; I reckon I'd probably get the cheaper Supafit next time.

Car mats... I recently got the Sandgrabba ones because I wanted better protection (coverage for the hump in the foot well of the seceond row etc.) than the OEM rubber ones that I already had, but... I prefer the OEM rubber ones. The OEM ones fit perfectly and are easy to remove and refit for a quick clean. The Sandgrabba ones don't fit as nicely (I'm being picky there though), the raised edges take up a fair bit of the foot well (especially for the front passenger), and they are more fiddly to fit and remove. I think I'll stick with simple and durable Toyota rubber ones in future.

I should add: I don't have a job where I am constantly dragging dirt and mud in the car -- unfortunately I'm tucked away in an office most of the time. If I did, then I'd probably appreciate the Sandgrabbas a lot more.

Our use is for every day stuff and 4WD touring.

Thanks, Ill go the Supafit canvas covers and the sandgrabba floor mats to collect the extra dirt, we do have the standard rubber toyota mats but I think the better protection will be great for us. I really appreciate your advice.

I've had a few different seat covers over the years and prefer canvas but recently put Aldi black seat covers and quite like them. Wear well plus lots of pockets.

I should also mention Aldi floor mats won't last long.

I got these as I didn't like the tradesman feel of the canvas, fit exceptionally well and look great....

I just bought black Aldi front seats covers. They last way longer than Repco canvas style. Lots of pockets, hard wearing. Cheap but miles better than many on the market.

Has anyone bought and installed themselves the toyota car seat covers on a GXL? I have a 2021 GXL. Been quoted $800 for supply of the toyota fabric seat covers for 1st and 2nd row.

and they've quoted $300 to install!!. Was going to try and install myself.
