Hi all, wanting to pick some brains. Looking at buying a 2016 Prado GXL and the dealer is offering 5 years extended warranty for $6000, my question is, is this worth it?? Or is this too pricey??? Your thoughts would be appreciated thx

Too pricey. You need to make sure it is Genuine Toyota Extended Factory warranty. On a 200 cruiser I bought it was $1200 for an extra 3 years. It paid itself off with first claim. The price of that one sounds like it is a dealer warranty, which is not the same and a total rip. The only one to go for is from toyotainsurance.com.au

When I bought my Prado back in 2007 I signed up with the Toyota dealer for Extended Warranty for 3 years with Swann Insurance and polciy was cheaper than that offered by Toyota
It cost roughly $1000 and I got my moneys worth with claims for out of warranty for injector replacement. Toyota supplied the injectors and swann paid for the labour.
Also had other work done paid for by Swann .
Extended warranty worked for me but $6000 I would baulk at.
Maybe a cheaper price for shorter period might be worth considering if available and check out Swann for their pricePedro
