Towing capability

Hi team, I need some help please
Been trying to do the figures on my 2012 GX and it’s towing ability.. Doing my head in
GCM 5370
GVM 2990
Tare 2210
Tow 2500
Payload 780
So I’m a single Dad and If I don’t use all my vehicle payload kg am I able to add some towing Kg for a caravan Additional to the 2500 but not so much that I exceed the 5370? Or is the 2500kg limit steadfast

no you can't
i have tried different ways to got my combination close to GVM (5400)
my van weigh's 2350, on the car it weigh's 2130 (220kg towball weight)
my car is 2850, plus 220 = 3070 ( 170kg over on the car) 5200 GCM, still 200 kg short of the GCM, but 170kg over GVM

you are best to weigh every part separately ,
Front wheels, without the van on , front wheels with the van on
whole car without the van on , whole car with the van on
the van on the car, the van off the car

DON'T rely on what the tags say

toyota told me my 120 GXL weighed 1975kg when sold, but i have the sales brochure that says 2350kg
when i got my van it had a max weight ot 2000kg, we weighed it at 2080kg, so had them re rate it to 2450 as it was to be behind the Prado 120

the front axle on the 120 is 1290kg max
the rear axle on the 120 is 1800kg max
the 150 went to 1490kg on the front axle and still had 1800kg on the rear axle
the GVM on the 120 is 2900kg the 150 is 2990kg

i would say that my 120 series D4D 6sp would be best to tow up to like 2200 as a max
but my 150 series D4D auto would be happy to tow up 2750 as a max due to the braking system being better and the auto with a trans cooler & the lockup kit

the 200 series has a bigger issue as it only has a 550kg payload to take the towball weight , fuel & the driver , no room for any gear & the wife and or kids
( i guess then you can get the wife to drive the other car so she can bring the boat for you) (just kidding)

someone here in Australia reduced the payload in the 200 from 3800 to 3350 ( 3800 in every other country in the world except here)
