Loose all elec power after or while using auto in manual mode.

Has anyone come across this. My 2010 diesel 150 auto looses all electrical power when I use the auto as a manual IE either on the road or during hill descent.
Pull over wait a few seconds and all comes good. Start engine and drive off. This has happened a couple of times but it is disconcerting if it keeps happening.
