Comparing the "insulation" between my US-made Limited 4Runner and my "third world" Prado, there are some big differences in the quality.
The material in my Prado is less dense and thinner. It has qualities similar to dryer-filter lint: it is absorbent, lightweight and liberates debris due to being fray-prone and dust-attracting.
I am thinking to replace these with a higher-quality, less permeable, denser foam rather than what looks like recycled cotton balls. Anyone know what is a good substitute?
I am thinking that I could use Noico RED 150 mil (closed cell PE Foam) along with Noico 80 mil (butyl). They apparently can install well together, but I think this is usually only on metal surfaces rather than plastic trim. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
