  • Water entering the cabin of my 2014 Prado

Hi, has anyone had issues with water entering the cabin of their 150 GXL prado?

I have check all the seals even had a window repair company look at the SUV and they could not find the leak.

I have removed the rear seats and found water pooling. The carpet in the middle is damp.

Have you checked the seals around the roof rack bolts? I’ve heard that causing leaks before, leaking down the pillars onto the floor.

Update with water leak into cabin.
The water is on the left side passenger seat. I have check the seals on the roof and all door seals.
I checked the air conditioning drain which is on the right side of the vehicle.
Toyoto can’t find how the water is entering the vehicle. They used a garden hose and fire hose to get water in the vehicle.

The car at some stage has been fitted with a new front windscreen .
Toyota technician doesn’t believe the water would travel back into the middle left side with out the front carpet being wet.

Could the water be coming from the rear windscreen water jet? Leaking in the middle some where? How would you test this?

          Any ideas would help?

If the roof rails have been off the chances are that they are leaking on the lhs. Undo them and reseal them. A visual often is not good enough.

I have removed the old sealant on the rubber ( factory). I have cleaned the drain track and seal the rubber again. Tested the repair and it was not leaking.

I don’t believe it is from the roof racks at this stage.

              Any other ideas out there?

Do you have a sunroof? If yes, check the drain holes front left and right.
