  • Engine Oil Leak

Hi everyone, I have a 2007 120 series D4D (380,000k). My mechanic identified an engine oil leak and said the transmission would need to come out to see it properly and repair it. He recommended a transmission place we’ve used before to do the job.
As the tranny is coming out is there anything else (other than the oil leak repair) I should get done at the same time?
    Cheers

Once while I had my 90 in a workshop getting something repaired, the mechanic told me my 90’s engine oil leak meant the transmission had to be separated from the engine to fix it. Turned out to just be a rocker cover gasket leak (that had been leaking for 2yrs resulting in a fair bit of blow back). Fixed it diy for $90. I’d get a 2nd opinion if I were you.
