Hey Rob, it's got to be an import I'd say, in Aus the 2700 was petrol in the 90 series and diesel in the hilux.

Very rare, Toyota Australia only had the 2.7 very briefly in the 120 body shape before being discontinued, most dealers never saw them. GX only and most went to fleet/hire cars.

The engine is the same as the Hilux and 90 series - 3RZ-FE DOHC four cylinder making 112kw.

        Toyota don't do a 2.7 diesel.

Of interest; the 150 is available with a 2.7 petrol four in overseas markets - 2TR-FE VVTi making 119kw (this engine also went in the 120 shape in OS markets)

That's right, then they went 2.8, then 3lt.

Nissan did a 2.7 diesel in the early shape Pathfinder and Terrano II.

Ah what a powerfulbeast that engine is, i have one in my Lux. 0 - 100 times and 1/4 mile times are best measured using a calender rather than a stopwatch

              Cheers Andrew

Didn't come with twin tanks neither....

Probably would of been OK if it had selectable 4x4...

I might have to remind Chippy of this fact on our next outing when he's gabbing on about petrol power over diesel power :P
