  • National 4x4 Outdoors Show (Sydney)

On Saturday 23 July my wife and I went to the National 4x4 Outdoors Show at the Sydney Showgrounds. Overall I was rather disappointed with the show. For example, at the show I did not see even one Prado (I’m not referring the outside the Showgrounds or surrounding parking lots). It seemed like the show largely excluded a massive part of the 4x4 market in Australia. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t the Toyota LandCruiser Prado the third highest selling 4x4 in Australia in 2021?

Yes, Totyota had a record year for sales in 2021. The waiting list now stretches out (over a year in the case of many models). Maybe they have sold all of their showroom stock?

Yes I thought so too. The Toyota Landcruiser Prado is super popular in Australia. It would have been nice if they had Prados at the National 4x4 National Show at the Sydney Showgrounds kitted out with various products to give people attending the show ideas of how their vehicles could be fitted out. I had money to spend on a number of products at the 4x4 show but decided not to as Toyota Prados we’re not part of the show.

I went to the show aswell and was also disappointed, I think the main issue was that they had such a small area for something that would usually be massive. Such as the expos they hold at the race course etc.

MrBurns, I agree with you it was nothing like the huge caravan and camping show. It was a show largely about utes and Landcruisers and largely excluded 4x4 SUVs, such as the Landcruiser Prado, the Prado being one of the most popular 4WDs in Australia. In effect the show was relatively small and only catered for a part of the 4x4 Australian market. A bit sad really. I don’t think the show should be called a National 4x4 show.
