  • Fuel Management

Any one have an idea. I have a 2012 Prado GXL when I fill the tank it would tell me i have a range of 1540Kms. A couple of week ago it started telling me i have a range of 1220Kms. I have filled the tank up twice now to FULL. and it still reads 1220kms. It is like it is not reading the aux tank . Fuel gauge reads full. A bit annoying

what does your average fuel consumption reading show ? (in litres per 100km if you have it set for that).
    150litres/1540km = 9.7litres/100km
    150litres/1220km = 12.2litres/100km

Has your driving style changed, has someone else been driving your vehicle, have you been towing something, changed your tyres, is your tyre pressure a bit low, added a roof rack or been carting lots of people or gear around ?

The range is a calculation from how much fuel is in your tank and your average fuel consumption, (which is from the past), the car computer doesn't know how you will drive in the future, so the range is a guestimate at the best of times.

It's more a gimmick than something you would want to rely on.
