How to use the 4wd

Hello first time owing a 2001 Toyota parado automatic
hwo do I turn the 4wd on, the 4wd stick is next to the gear stick
is there a certain spot it needs to sit in all the time?
has L N H on the 4wd stick

H - high range
N - nothing engaged
L - low range

The Prado is full time 4WD. There's probably a button to lock the centre diff.

Thanks, without pushing the diff lock button just leave it in H while normal driving

Yes. And don't engage the diff lock on hard surfaces.

I've broken CV joints on more than one occasion because the centre diff was locked while I was driving on sealed roads, so... yeah, what amts said
