  • Radiator concern. ????

    Hi to all.

This is not a Prado question but it is a Toyota. My wifes Corolla, a 2001 Manual, which has been extremely reliable, was having work done & the mechanic mentioned the discolouration

of the top of the radiator. It has changed from the normal charcoal grey to a tan/brown/grey colour. He thought this could be a problem as it might crack/burst.

If anyone has any ideas about this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards, Russell ............

P.S. I don't check this Forum that regularly so it might be a couple of days before I reply. Thanks.

Even if it hasn’t cracked yet, keep an eye on the area, especially after long drives or during warmer weather. Since it's a 2001 model, replacing the radiator may be the best long-term solution to avoid sudden failures.

      Hi Natalie321

Yes, the safe option would be to replace the radiator. I'm keen to replace it with a Forester as the Carolla is too low to easily get into & out of as we get older ???

It has been a very reliable vehicle & my wife wants to keep it but ???

Thanks for your thoughts. Regards, Russell ...........
