    Gday all
Has anyone purchased or had any experience with the supercheap auto's portable air compressor ( 150psi and 72l/m )?
    cheers

I take it you mean this one?

I had the model below it and it's switch fail fairly quickly. The compressor itself seized after that.

Money is better spent elsewhere I reckon.

Me too, I only used it once or twice before moving onto a better brand. I gave it to another PP member who only used it a short while before the switch/wiring failed.

Buy something better if your budget stetches that far.

Yes I had one for a couple years they do heat up a bit when you do all 4 tyres at once.
I made the mistake of letting someone else offer to finish pumping up my tyres while I was packing the camper, to find he had walked off to have a chat to someone else, meanwhile the tyre was at 50 something pound with the air hose closest to the pump starting to stretch and balloon.
The pump is still working but I bought a typhoon after that, the one with the twin head fairly happy with that apart from the fuse holder melted on it.
Easily fixed with another fuse holder from supercheap, then I used the air hose off the original pump trimmed the ballooned bit off, reattached it, seeing it had a good screw on fitting and was a lot longer than the typhoon's air hose.
So if that is your budget go for it, but if pumping all 4 tyres at once try to give it a little breather to cool between tyres, and I always put the pump in the shade of the car while using it to help it a little bit.

Have a look at the bushranger range of compressors, a little dearer but i have had mine for 6 years, still pumps up my tyres before everyone else. At the 5 year mark i broke the valve fitting, went into ARB to buy a new one they said it doesn't look that old lets ring bushranger about waranty?? rang and five minutes later i had a brand new hose and fitting, no questions asked. For me they won my business for life.

I got a free Bushranger compressor with my new tyres. Very impressed with it.

Gday Seth ( or anyone that can help )
Have done a little research, and now will look at the bushranger black max.
One question I do have, can this be mounted easily within the bonnet area as a fixed unit? ( given I have to extend hose )
              cheers

                Re: sca portable compressor

I would think any compressor could be mounted only restricted by size etc. I have never seen the need as whilst I have had the compressor I have had three different cars so cost would start to get a bit expensive!

You may need to build yourself your own mounting bracket or support as well as looking at the wiring altough a portable unit with its exiting spring clamp connectors could still be used but only connecting when needed. I wouldn't leave those standard clamps on the battery terminals all the time in case they poped off or caused some shorting of the positive to the chassis or body.
