Looks interesting - I might try it on a small dent we have in our stainless steel fridge door.

The PDR guys normally use fine tools to massage the dent smooth from the back, or a glue pulling technique if they can't access from behind. I had an egg size dent taken out of the roof of the Prado using the latter. I haven't heard of them using dry ice.

Interesting ... work or not, considering the price of dry ice, what have you got to lose for giving it a shot.

I have a couple of small dents in the Prado (in it when I bought it) that I might have a shot at getting out.

Anyone know where you can buy dry ice? Google hasn't been friendly with this question for suppliers in the Canberra area.

A friend of mine tried it, but it didn't work too well. Basically no effect on the dents. He used the pellet form, and it was a cold day.

He will try a more solid block on a warm day when it comes. I will let you know if he has any success. :|

Using rapid temperature variations to remove dents can work under very specific circumstances, but the dent has to be "just right". Normally, dents are much harder to remove than this and require the correct process for that specific dent. You can buy inexpensive DIY glue pulling kits from the U.S. which work really well on certain dents. I've removed some dents successfully on my car with these kits. The idea is to remove the dent gradually otherwise you can risk over stretching the panel and end up with an untidy finish. The kits also contain a knock down tool to finish the job. At the end of the day, bear in mind that some dents are impossible to remove completely and will require more extensive body-shop repairs.
