  • Turbo Timers

Hello everyone, I am new to this site, however used it extensively prior to buying the 2010 Prado and thanks for the advice.

I notice that no one has addressed the topic of turbo timers. Have people had these fitted aftermarket? If people are not fitting them anymore what should you do after long drives or even shortest drives to cool the turbo down?

    Prado Patto,

Welcome to Pradopoint. Click on the search window up the top right hand side and this will help lots. Heaps easier than trawling through. 1 thread I located that may be of help is below.

    viewtopic.php?f=51&t=8116&p=119315&hilit=turbo+tim er#p119315

Me personally, I dont run a Turbo Timer because I cant be bothered fitting one/would rather the money be spent on other mods

In saying that I still ensure the turbo is wound down after hard use (beach work, highways, towing etc). I practically idle down my street when going home and always allow 10-20 seconds for the turbo to slow down before stopping the engine. I am never in that much of a hurry I need to jump out of the car and leave it running.
