I when for a play yesterday after a long time not getting out and found my Air compressor for the locker was not working.
When I returned home I ended up having to strip it down and found it had gone rusty inside. The filter was still clean but probably had got water in it from either washing the engine or water crossings.
I noted that it was a fully sealed electric motor, but lacked o-rings or grease to prevent water ingress. The body was still fairly clean but the rotor was so gummed up that it wouldn’t spin freely and must of overheated and hence writing off the compressor.

My question is what alternative is there if I want to keep costs down. This is just a simple compressor to do the air locker as I use a Bush Ranger to pump my Tires up and keep that away from any dirt.
Cheers
