I have decided it might be time to get my Prado paint fixed up. Yep its black so you see every little swirl and scratch
There are plenty of swirl marks, so i'd like to get it professionaly fixed up so it makes it easier for me to maintain.
Any body know a good car detailer in Adelaide that does good work at reasonable prices. All I want is the paint work fixed up, I don't need any other detailing work done.

Andrew, I' dont know of any contacts, but it may be worth PM'ing 'lippa', he works in the industry and may know contacts? Hes based in QLD though so not sure if he can be of any help :roll:

There was a post on LCOOL not that long ago. A fella who used to own a Prado who claims to have recovered Team Piggy out at Bushy's a while back posted the following:

 would like to recommend a Car Detailer I used this week to clean my Cruiser after travelling along the Gibb River Road, Tanamai and Border Tracks in the last month.  

As you can understand, the red dust, sand and mud had gotten every where, inside and out. I usually clean my car myself, but this time it needed a professional. 

After getting quotes from all over the place from $300 to $500, which was way too expensive for my liking.  
I found “Classic Clean – Car” at Blair Athol who also cleans the Fleet SA auction vehicles. 

For a trade price of $220 they did the lot, no use me listing everything, they did it all. They have the hoist to do underneath the car, painted the wheel arches, shampoo the carpets, etc. It’s actually cleaner than when I got it from a local Toyota car yard.  

So, if you need the full service call Lee on 0410 516 704, 428 Main North Rd, Blair Athol, behind Smiths Car Yard. Mention my name and you can get the same trade price. I have no affiliation with Classic Clean – Car, just very happy with the job and price. 

They were still hosing the red dust away when I left.

In the same post there is also a comment from SteveM. He was with me up at the Bendleby Ranges on the day you joined in with us. He had a Dark 100 series. He has used them a few times now I believe.

I did use a 100 series to winch myself off at Bushy's? That was about it? Dragged it 10 mtrs over the top of a dune too ! :shock:

I used a mob who used to be at South Road, mile End, but they have now moved to Lonsdale. They did a fantastic job on my Commodore (Black) it looked better than it did New!

Based on this thread, I took the Prado for some TLC at Classic Clean A Car. Everything was no trouble for Lee. Here are the results after they did the engine, under body (played in some mud), cut and polish and interior windows. Cost was $180. I think it's ready to go on the market.

Sounds like I might have to give Lee a call. My baby is needing some TLC that i just can't provide at the moment. Hope he'll be gentle!!! :wink: :wink:

Make sure Lee is there on the day you drop the car off. His workers left a few bits which needed attention. He was there in the afternoon by the time I cam to pick it up and noticed those things. He dropped everything and fix it up.

Adelaide Car Detailer

Gday,

As the title suggests....

For those Prado owners in Adelaide that like to give their cars a bit of love every once and a while and get it detailed by a company.

I found some recommendations on another 4wd forum for "Classic Clean a Car".
I used them for the first time the other day to go over, under and inside my Prado.

I am stoked with the results and service and will definitely go back again.
I have used a few different places over the years for my other cars and could not fault Classic Clean A Car for service and for a good price.

They are located at 464 Main North Rd, BLAIR ATHOL, Ph: 82626148.
If you google them they have recently moved from #428 Main North Rd.

Took our other car to Classic Clean a Car this week and realised that the Prado has been in there before but at the previous location (behind Smith's Holden). See earlier posts.

Lee and the team did a great job on the exterior, interior and engine bay. All the interior marks left by the kids on the beige upholstery were gone.

When I went to pick it up I pointed to the Pradopoint sticker on my Prado and asked if he was willing to offer a discount for Pradopoint members and he said yes. It is roughly a 10% discount.
