  • Mobile paint and dent repair

just wanted to know if anyone has used the mobile guys to fix your car?

I reversed into a fence at work and have stuffed my rear bumper but didnt get any pannels just plastic. I also have some other little chips over the car I was going to get touched up while there at it but want a good job.

So my question is am I better off going to a pannel beaters or are the mobile guy just as good?

    Cheers

Re: Mobile paint and dent repair

Mobile repairers can be a bit of a gamble. Yes there are some good ones out there who know there stuff but there are also some pretty dodgy operators. Word of mouth might be the way to go here, but don't expect it to be cheap. I looked at some a while ago to remove some small dents and was turned off by the cost. IMHO for the money, I would go to a reputable body shop with experienced and trained repairers. Some damage can never be fully remedied regardless of what gadgets or gizmos one has in their tool kit.

I can highly recommend calling Greg at Fogarty body works on Robinson Rd, Geebung. Painted my bar and also a lot of other things for me over the years and always is 110%

Re: Mobile paint and dent repair

I have used the local "Touch Up Guy" franchisee for a minor job on the bumper.I was impressed with the job. Colour matching and finish on the silver and clear coat was very good.
With these jobs I think the result is only as good as the operator - it really is an art. I think the cost was very reasonable compared with taking it to a panel shop. They will do plastic bumper repairs as well as paint touch up ( some will do minor paintless dent removal too).
Have a a good talk to the guy before you let him him touch the car - you can generally tell if he is passionate about his work. Check to see his van is professionally set up and his equipment all tidy and clean. I tend to prefer a franchisee chain, as it may offer a bit better comeback than individual operators.
