setting up the tent for the first time in ages

Thought id set the tent up in the back yard today to make sure it was alright and to air it out before we going camping some time soon in the future. Now the kids have convinced me to sleep out there with them for the night . haha oh well close to the beer fridge

:lol: nice one mate i set my mansion up a few weeks ago to do the same thing my daughter tried oh so hard to get us sleep in it but alas the rain won when night time came so i thought it better to bed down inside

Make sure you hose the heck out of it and get the fibres to close up. Only way to really make a tent waterproof. Avoid the seam sealers etc that some camping shops will pressure you do buy.

aza, been looking at upgrading to that exact same tent. Been a little concerned about the size though. I think it is nearly 6mx6m when fully erect with the awnings out?? Just concerns me that it won't fit in some of the bush camp sites :?: Have you had a chance to give it a run yet?

How much time does "The Mansion" take to errect and packup? We have done a lot of travelling where you setup each night and move on the next day and had a large and cumbersone dome tent that became a PITA. I was greatful in some respect when the zip busted and one of the aging fiberglass poles begane to splinter when crossing the desert last year. Ended up buying a Turbo 300 Plus due to being quick to put up (longer to pack up but less time than the older dome).

First time i took me and the missus an hour second time around got it do to 35mins takes about 20mins to pull down with two people

Na Mate havent had a chance to give it a run yet will be taking it to Bribie in November then DBl island point over new years it will fit on anything from med to large sites it requires a minimum of 6m x 4m site (bare in mind though its a 12 man tent from memory they do a 10 and a 6 )

haha mine tents about the same size they are big but with us and 3 kids very handy . I never heard about wetting it down thow
