Davies Plain Track

Hi all, i am planning to trek the Davies Plain Track with a group of mates in 3 weeks. Wondering if anyone has been down that way already recently and can give any info on track conditions and river/creek crossing levels.

I did a trip to Geehi and Tom Groggin 1-5 October and in preparation for the trip I spoke with Khancoban National Parks field officers to get an idea for track conditions and river heights. Bottom line is that the tracks have been severely damaged with the huge amount of rainfall in September and I beleive another downfall of a similar magnitude occured in the last fortnight. The field officers could see tracks being repaired well into begining of next year.

Davies Plain track is usually pretty rutted but passable provided you pick the rite line (FYI, I drove there March this year). What I'd do if I were you is keep track of track conditions on the Vic Park site (here: http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm) and perhaps find a local Vic Park's office that looks after the area.

Thanks Fungi2003, We attempted to do this track in may but found a locked gate just south of the murray river crossing and had to detour via Tom Groggin Track and eventually linked back up to Limestone Creek further south. Awesome drive then so looking forward to the trip. Will take your advise. much appreciated.
