help re PM Outbox & Sign In Remember Me option

    help re PM Outbox & Sign In Remember Me option

    I have tried the search and also read the FAQ and read and read etc etc but I am having a mental block and need to know whats happening, what I have/haven't done .

    Previously when I sent someone a PM it went no problems, and could be found in Sent. Now they sit in the Outbox. (Sorry ROSCO5 I have tried to PM you again - twice - re your nudge bar thats for sale)

    So whats happening (be gentle, I am crook, suffered an injury so not feeling the best)

    ALSO one more thing,

    I have changed my internet options so as to allow PP but each time I come on it I have to sign on, and then may have to do it again if I go into a different area of PP. I click the Remember me bit but not working for me on this site. I have no issues with other sites like ExplorOZ etc etc which remember me automatically.

    again please be gentle. If I am doing something that should be simply obvious, sorry....

    The PM one is easy, PM's stay in your outbox until the recipient opens them, after that they go to your sent box. As for the login, if you have selected the "log me in automatically each visit" option on the login page then i would have thought it would work, if it doesn't i wouldn't have a clue as i am a complete computer moron.

      Thanks Andrew, I was thinking that maybe the case with the Outbox/Sent messages but wasnt real sure. I have sent 2 to someone with an item for sale as well as responding on the PP forum and wasnt sure if it was my end or just that he hasnt looked at them yet.

      I sign in and click the log me in automatically each visit box but still have to keep signing in. I thought it would have to do with cookies so i went in and added PP to ALLOW but still the same result. SO that was depressing so I went and ate all our cookies in the cupboard and still no luck :shock:

      Funny thing is I only have this problem with this site. All others are fine. As much as it annoys me, I will just keep signing in. Thanks for your reply - cheers mick

        Hi Mick,

        I had this problem recently when I had my new laptop running wondows 7. Here is my post. What I noticed was the address bar has sid=followed by a bunch of alphabet soup. I can't remember exactly how it was fixed but it has something to do with that sid=stuff and the gobbledegook changes everytime you enter PP. So the remember me cookie is only remembering your login for that unique sid which explains why it doesn't remember you the next time you login.

          yep i got that sid= bla blaup there. still having dramas having to keep signing on. I am on W7 too Cant remember if I had problem on XP - that computer has just died.

          hopefully a mod or someone knows how to fix it and will give some guidance. Strange thing is its only PP that has the problem for me

              I have the same problem. I had Windows7 64 bit and I just reinstalled Windows7 32 bit in an attempt to make automatic logon work again. It worked on Windows Vista before I upgraded.
              I have internet explorer v8 and I have tried every conceivable change in settings and I get the same thing......auto logon doesnt work.

              I think it all started by "Delete all board cookies", but can't be certain.

              Any help would be appreciated.

                surely there is a PP expert here that can solve this for us non computer tech people

                glad to know its not just me - thought i had done something wrong that is simple and obvious to fix

                  Does anyone have an answer for this problem yet? I have had this issue since the day I signed up, on my home computer and my laptop, but other websites keep me logged in fine.

                  It really is an issue for this forum as im sure others are like me, where you open the forum to see the latest, see something you want to reply to but then remember you have to log in and then decide it's not worth the hassle and just keep looking at other posts (it's taken me 4 days to come back and log into this post to comment!!!)

                  anyways..... point is, if someone can fix the problem the activity around here might increase slightly. just a thought. (then again, maybe you don't want me posting :lol: )

                    OK, I encountered the remember me problem with a new work PC. This is how I solved it.

                    Go to pradopoint.com and do the login. Tick the remember me option. Once you are logged in, wait unti it takes you back to the index page. Now book mark this page. For me, I bookmark the active topics page. So I would click on active topics, wait for it to load, then book mark it. It has been working fine for me now. Enjoy!

                    EDIT: The above suggestion only worked for a day. I'm back to not being automatically logged in on the new PC.
