  • New years resolution

Well I have been told to get off my a*@? and lose some weight. I must admit that I have been a bit slack of late and gone back to my old ways. I used to do triathlon and now the triathlon is a beer , steak and ice cream so the old new years resolution come out to lose 10 kg  I find I go through with these type of ideas better if I tell people about it and since I am on here so much I figure there might as well have a reminder on here too. So whats your new years resolution???? I know its a little bit away still but mine will be starting now (not that it will work at this time of year)

Mine? Same as last year - lose weight, quit smoking, drink less...
Never seems to happen though!!! Cos how much fun would it be without all that?

      Re: New years resolution

I did something like this earlier this year but was nothing to do with loosing weight. Work has a gym whihc I now head down to about three or four times a week. It's now got me enjoying running and I did the Adelaide City to Bay fun run a few months back. 12kms and I did it in 61minutes. Looking to do it next year again but hoping to get closer to 54 minutes. I also did the Foxtel Lap here in Adelaide. Got ripped off on that as the treadmill was trashed and they moved me onto another and then eventually back so lost heaps of time (probably about 5-6 minutes) and they only recongised 5.4kms.

Do a bit of exercise and you feel heaps better and are able to do more and spend more fun time with the kids.

Smoking = fun Really ? I would have said it takes away enough money to do a lift and get new tyres every year???? thats not fun but then thats easy for me to say being a non smoker for nearly 10 years now

While i understand where your coming from - its incredibly difficult to quit while working on an oilrig 300km from the beach. As the only social aspect of a place like this is sitting in the coffee shop talking bullsh!t with the boys... Try to quit smoking out here and you lose your sanity!!!

Get the snip. 4 kids before 30 is definitely enough.

Just make sure it works. I KNOW it dose not always work and having it a second time is not fun. Also take the option of being knocked out instead of in the chair.

                            Re: New years resolution

well .. gave up smoking in order to buy a Harley (deal with the wife) so don't have to worry about that resolution. So the list now stands at:

                            1. Losing weight is on the list ... again ... maybe this is the year :P
                            2. Find a new job ... anyone need a telecommunications installation and integration tech, willing to do little for a lot it needed
                            3. Finish painting the house ... started when we bought is in '07 and stopped in '08 when I got half way, I HATE painting.
                            4. This should be my No. 1, buy more/upgrade camping gear and do more camping! ... considering this goes hand in hand with beers and a lot of them, could make resolution 1 difficult but sacrifices must be made :P
