Toyota Tow Hitches turning upside down.

Does anyone know whether or not there is a weight/ engineering problem etc if I was to invert my toyota tow hitch upside down so as to gain about 100mm more clearance??
Need the extra clearance to make the camper trailer more even and to assist with the lowering of the jockey wheel.
Any advice will help

it would make no difference what so ever from an engineering point of view. ive done it as well. cheers samo

There should be a sticker on the hitch. I have the Toyota OE hitch and you can turn it around.

There is no problem to do this, the only thing you need to look out for is the tow ball weight, for some reason the ball weight changes.

Ditto for me as well. the sticker on the bar states it's the same with the sleeve up or down.

Sweet, they must of changed it then, I couldnt understand why they were like that a few years back. When I had my 80 series with factory towbar the ball weight was rated as 250kg one way, but 200kg the other way.

No problem whatsoever. I was advised to do this by one of the more reputable towing specialists in Sydney. We do it on all our work vehicles pulling 2T GVM trailers to get additional clearance.
