What's Australia like for offroading?

What are your rules like, in the UK it's becoming harder and harder to find legal routes to drive off road? The Police have the power to seize your truck if after a warning you contine to drive anywhere you should not, that warning lasts one year and includes any place else as well.

Also in the UK it's up to you to prove that there is a right of way for 4x4's on a route, the maps can be wrong as well, you you can think you are doing nothing wrong.

It's not all bad though, we still find areas to explore.

Not that bad here really... many many roads and tracks through forrests.

in South East Queensland anyway they've just made it easier by removing the need to get permits to drive through National Parks which is great!

Yeah I agree, It is pretty good,

I heard of a great idea of someone who lived in QLD though, maybe you should look around and try to get someone to start a 4wd park..

Some in QLD bought a few thousand acres or scrub!! and then charges people per day to come in and use the park.. Never been there myself, but I have a few friends who have. Apparently ever so often the owner clears some more trees, and builds some more challenges fo 4wds, Hills and the likes. My mates all reckon it is the best place, as there are always others who enjoy 4wdriving, challenges are great, and you can spend days driving around and still not see everything!!!

Is a great Idea, Just need to make the money and I will start one myself

Cruiser Park is fantastic. It is a working cattle property though, still the idea of charging people to drive their cars around up and down your hills is a cracker!

have had many a trip there and has tracks for all levels and camping facilities are pretty good!

if you ever feel the need to head up this way ba77hy make sure you let the qld'ers know and no doubt a few will be up for the trip also!

i think there's one closer to you also... Rover Park, not sure of link and haven't been there myself but Wengnuts i think has done a few trecks down that way!

Cruiser Park is fantastic.

How far out of Brissy / Gold Coast is it.

It sounds like it could be worth a bit of a visit while I'm over that way.

absolutely.. realistically it's about 2.5 hours north of Brisbane... 2 hours if you don't get stuck behind someone slow!

As far as i know Victoria is a lot better off than QLD. You can still drive through State Parks/Forests and National parks, however we do have seasonal closures over winter, which is a bummer, but sensible really. I guess thats why there arent as many 4x4 parks where they charge you admission to drive.

Man, Victoria is the best for 4WDing. Amazing tracks through amazing country. Maybe I should say it's crap down there to keep everyone away! I'd move to North East Victoria tomorrow if I could afford it!
