  • Very happy girl!

Well, for only having owned the Prado for 4-5 weeks, we've sure done some kilometers in it. Yesterday and this morning I travelled a lonely 1,575kms in it from Eyre Peninsula SA, to Orange NSW. And I must admit, although I was by myself, I had a lovely drive. In total we have racked up 6900kms since we bought it, an I still have the trip back to EP yet to come!

All we have done to her is install UHF, and phone antenna, new HID's, replace air con compressor (warranty) and pour endless amounts of diesel in her....

Which brings me to my next question, can anyone suggest a good place in orange for a service??

    Thanks heaps!!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and all the very best for the new year!!!

1500 clicks is a long drive on your own. I agree though the Prado is an awesome touring machine. Jump in and drive.

      Hey Jamie

Sorry to go off topic but i noted on myswag you were asking about the gas bottles up front.

On our storm 2009 model there is only 1 9kg bottle in the middle and the battery and isolator switch has been put in the front boot.

On our round oz trip the 9kg gas bottle lasted us 6 weeks at a time and that was cooking almost every night (we only ate out about once every 2 weeks) and also heating water for coffee and waterbottles etc in the cold areas

I am also investigating another storage hole as i believe the back step up area to the rear bed is hollow so i may put some sort of hatch there. We found being on the road for 4 months in 3 different climates bedding storage takes up a lot of room
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

Too right!! Actually ended up being a 17 hour drive (excluding nap).... Think the trip home will feel longer because of lack of excitement or want for going home....

Simmo67 & JeffH are locals in Orange/Bathurst; they may know a good mechanic. Maybe send them a pm.

          Happy new year

          Cheers,
