I have the Easter Weekend off and was wandering if any one has any plans for the wekend.I would like my Partner and her Daughter to meet some off road enthusiests as they are very shy and find it hard to mix easily with strangers. Those that know me know that my partner is from Thailand and they find it hard to mix with people unless it is a freindly enviroment. So back to the question of Easter,We would like to get away but do not know where to go and have no one else to go with to make it a lot more interesting. So if any one has room to have us tag along I would be very grateful. We have a Jaco Swan CamperTrailer so any serious 4wding with Trailer attached is out but it is self sufficiant to an extent.

Re: Easter in Adelaide
Ah Sawadeekrup Khun Trev..
I know what you mean, Khun Thai's are a very quiet race.. done a lot of travel over there myself. Ex brother in law ran a lot of Accor hotels thru THAI/Asia.
I am heading off to a block for Easter at Sedan (90 acres) bunch of friends, 4wd's, rally cars, buggies, Quad bikes and dirt bikes and anything else that makes noise! The group themselves are fairly rowdy at night though! ha.. Just add alcohol!
Not much 4wding so to speak, I think we are going to do a day trip to Morgan or Saunders? I can ask the owner if you would be welcome along?
Cheers.

Re: Easter in Adelaide
Just visited Saunders Gorge again last week and with the recent storms, some of the tracks are a bit worse and there are new "gutters" where there weren't before. The very first (short) steep climb I had to have 2 goes at it (in my muddies) when I did it easily in 2009 with the standard Grandtreks. Bro-in-law in the 2nd vehicle chickened out and took the bypass.
About a third of the track is closed. The dam wall at the creek crossing was washed out. There is no access to the Rocky Hill climb/lookout. The condition of the track however, has made it more fun for the beginner 4WDriver

Re: Easter in Adelaide
We are heading to the Vic high country for the school Holidays including Easter on a club trip, maybe another time Trev, always happy to spend a few days in the bush with good company. With the Jayco if you only wanted a bit of light offroading, then maybe the western side of Ngarkat CP would be good, there are a few good camp sites and the tracks are reasonably easy although parts are sandy and it is probably best to have company if towing a heavyish trailer. what is your work schedule normally? maybe we could arrange a weekend in the cooler weather.

Re: Easter in Adelaide
We will either be here in Adelaide doing up the house so we can sell it OR head up to the Mid North or Yorks.
Might do a trip somewhere in May and maybe tie it into a Friday (or even better a Thursday AND Friday) into a weekend.Nick
