Mechanic North of Adelaide

well all the time has come for my diesel 120 to have its 150,000 service.
I would normally do this myself, however I am a little aprehensive about doing the timing belt.
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic north of Adelaide.

I live in Gawler but would be happy to travel if the mechanic comes highly recommended.

I did already call them, but at between $1200 and $1300 they are well over double what others are charging for the same service. There is no way I could justify that no matter how good their service and workmanship is.
CMI Toyota in the city charge $510

Gee that's a bit out of the ball park :shock: Are they comparing apples with apples though?

4wd systems have a workshop on NE road, but I'm unsure if they do log book servicing. Failing that you could play the Toyota dealers off against each other on price..... Peter Kittle and Northpoint Toyota.

Personally i wouldn't take my wheelbarrow to Peter Kittle to be serviced. I have had dealings with both their Adelaide and Alice Springs dealerships and on both occasions got a lot less than we paid for :evil:

Not sure how far I can go slaging off specific businesses here, feel free to delete this Mick if I have overstepped the mark.

Thanks for the feedback Andrew, I called them today and they are wide of the mark price wise anyway.
Personllay I'd rather take it to some small business that has a good reputation.
I am stil on the hunt for that.

This obviously excludes Perth, Canberra and Hobart - but heaps of other places to choose a mechanic from. :roll: :roll: :shock:

Yep, thats what i do. Roly's Automotive in Berri but i guess thats a bit far for you eh!

13 years of servicing all our vehicles (apart from when we travel) and not even one problem, and the service and price is always excellent as well.

There used to be a great diesel mechanic on Main North Rd at Willaston. He came highly recommended to me with my old diesel Pajero, and wasn't expensive. I'm not sure if he is still there as it was 2 - 3 years ago. Apart from that, Goannawhere have been good to my 120 series Prado.

I did try that guy at Willaston, but I got the distinct idea he wasnt interested in my business. Far from helpful.
I decided to bite the bullet and had it done at CMI in the city. No complaints so far.

Hi we take our prado to Alltrack on south road and we have used them twice and i fell happy to recommend them to others and are priced fairly
