well as you can see in the market for a new tent, tossing up between the 3 listed above, have a family of 4 with 7yo and 2 yo tinlids. i like the idea of the oztent rv5 and the full width awning but not sure how much room it will have seeing we all need a little room inside for bags and stuff, tent will travel on roofrack. jet tent is also good being canvas as well, the blackwold turbo is just a lighter version on the jet tent. what are people experiences with these tents, if ya have any fotos of setup ie the add ons you can get for the rv5 etc put em up. cheers samo

Re: oztent rv5 vs jet tent f25x vs blackwolf turbo 270lite
I've got a Turbo 300 Plus. It's big and spacious BUT it packs big as well. Takes up about a third of the rhino tray. A friend as an RV4 and from what I've seen you it looks pretty full with a couple of people and bags but is very quick to pack up and packs smaller but longer than the Blackwolf. The Jet is a copy of the Blackwolf and has features I wish the Blackwolf has. It has velcro and zipps for easily adding additional panels which I think is great. Yeah I could probably have someone sow those onto my tent to increase the shelter at front.
The RV4 my mate has is quick to put up but he has the front and side panels so with those takes about 10 minutes. Probably have the Turbo plus up in about 5-6 fully pegged. Would imagine the Jet takes the same as the Turbo
Mine is the Lite and havn't had any issues with weather at all. Happy with it other than the bulky size when packed. But it happens.Nick

Re: oztent rv5 vs jet tent f25x vs blackwolf turbo 270lite
Hi Samo
we have two RV5 and all the interconnections. each one will sleep three adults and bags comfortably. Oztent has released a new product recently called the Tag along tent which is basically the same as an Oztent but without the frame for half the price. You get one Oz tent and one tag along and it zips on. I have not seen it in the flesh though.
http://au.oztent.com/products/viewPr...?productid=348
we like the flexibility of the Oz tents as it depends on how many kids we take camping as to what tents and connectors we need. We also have an awning connector that allows the tent to hook up to the car awning.

oztent rv5 vs jet tent f25x vs blackwolf turbo 270lite
Hey there,
We are 2 adults an 2 tinlids of 6 and 9.
We have the rv5 and love it , however of late as the kids are getting a bit bigger we are running tight for space with four mats and bags in the rv5.
So we bought the rv5 tag along which works really well and is lighter and cheaper than another rv5. Kids sleep in the tag along and we now have heaps of room for the two of us and can now use stretchers if we want. The tag along attaches to the front of the rv5 and simply has 3 external poles to provide support. We set it up on the rv5 the first time in the rain and dark in around 10 mins. The other advantage is it gives you a covered corridor between the two for covered storage/cooking.
If you want the awning space back, buy the side awnings which give you a 2x2m space to the side of the tent.
This setup works great for us and we have flexibility. If your not concerned about new you can pick them up from about 700 or 800. Over time we've bought our setup piece by piece and the total cost for us has been about $1400 (rv5 700, tag along 500new, side awnings 200 new).
I'll have a look for some pics of the setup and post tonight if I can find them.
Cheers

Re: oztent rv5 vs jet tent f25x vs blackwolf turbo 270lite
Have just taken delivery of the Jet tent 25, though not yet used it. After looking around, decided on the Jet tent because it had more room to stand in than the Oztent, though in your case you would probably need the Jet tent 30. Also looked at a Blackwolf tent in a BCF store, but it had a tear in it from a clumsy customer, so thought it may not be tough enough. We also purchased a full insect screen which clips onto the awning should you need it in mossie country.
Purchased it at a Caravan and Camping show, where we were given a bit of a discount more than the $100- discount the company gives as a show special price.

Re: oztent rv5 vs jet tent f25x vs blackwolf turbo 270lite
better off with the extended bus tent, packs flatter, and shorter, can run veranda, plenty of room, centre pole = equipment hanger, side poles = more room.
Its a true and tried design for a reason, 6 pegs and 2 poles.
Specs:
Setup Time: 5 minutes
Dimensions: W300cm x L 400cm x H 210cm x end height 150cm
Pack Size: 90cm x 90cm x 12cm (Flat and Square)
Pole Size: 120 x 20cm
Weight: 26kg + Poles 5.5kg
or the double version.
Specs:
Setup Time: 8 minutes
Dimension: W260cm x L 500cm x H 210cm x end height 150cm
Pack Size: 90cm x 90cm x 12cm (Flat and Square)
Pole Size: 120 x 25cm
Weight: 27kg + poles 12kg
add veranda or tunnel, or wind break if required, fits in same bag.
