Not a bad deal seeing they are nearly $400!

By the way, if anyone ever needs to back their copy up, then you need to do the following.

You must have 2 DVD players in your PC, the recording one must be dual layer burnable.
Use a Dual Layer DVD +R to record on and copy on the fly (as far as I can tell, you can't image the file and then burn it back later).
That's it - it will take about 30-80 mins depending on your recorder.

Not condoning piracy but I prefer to use a backup in the car and keep the original safe at home

Sat nav & dvd input

Hey Richo,
Any idea if dvd can be played on SatNav screen or if Pc can be put through screen?

I did actually try that. I connected the composite video output from my in roof DVD player into the camera input of the SatNav (which I have a reverse override switch for). I DID get a picture but it was like watching a PAL signal on an NTSC screen. It was sort of there in black and white but jiggly and out of sync. I gave up in the end.

I did read a thread about a product from the US that might be able to do this as well as allow the iPod to play through etc. I already have a different iPod interface that works great so I haven't bothered going any further.

It would be nice to get this working so my wife could watch the same DVD that the kids are watching in the back.

I bought my Whereis v13 from ebay for around the $240, it's the genuine Toyota/Lexus DVD and works perfect. It just doesn't come with the original case.
With your Satnav input I believe you need to convert the signal to RGB. I've done some searching around for these units myself but decided it was bit expensive for the amount I would use it.! There's an Oz site that sells a unit that will do the job.
