Interesting about oziexplorer... This new garmin is awesome, no glitches etc very smooth. Still can take it back and get $400 towards indash unit and oziexplorer - is it that much better?

well even though im prob talking to myself - this 2460lt with topos is working great. Spoke to a GPS expert today and he said for money and what most people do a decent garmin plus their topos are great. heaps of detail and simple to use. as long as the crashing is fixed ill be more than happy with this option. cheers

For me yes. Using my 25k maps of NSW I get a lot more detail on roads and landmarks. I think the topo maps are great for bikers and walkers but for my the bigscreen Oziexplorer is a clear winner. I still use the standard Nuvi maps to navigate.

The garmin topo maps are ok however, I ran a 1390T and a 250W with the garmin topo and shonkymaps respectively. Neither showed all tracks in the area that I was travelling in. Purchased the topo maps from Lithuania!! on Epay for about $45AUD, and downloaded the shonkymaps for free as is intended. Both showed almost all tracks. Also the 1390T also resets.
