anyone seen or used route 66 gps software?

i've got a navman now, and never had any issues with it, but i'm looking to replace the headunit with something like THIS

and it has GPS built in but i've not heard of or seen the route 66 in action..

If you scroll further down the page there is a link to a comprehensive review on the software.

It doesnt look too bad at all actually, and from what i have read so far it sounds like it is a worthy contender.

A mate of mine has a new Nokia mobile phone with a built in GPS that uses Route 66 software. He says that it works well and has found all the addresses he has tried so far around Sydney and the central coast.

yeah i saw the "review" and it's a direct copy of someone else's review... off a pda... which is cool.. but it's always better to hear from someone who's had their hands on it!

If i can get the ok from the minister, i think i willl be giving one of these units a go. So far she hasn't been unimpressed with the idea.

            Route 66

I've had sensis (Whereis) based pograms before on my PDA's and wasn't overly impressed. Made quite a few mistakes & was often slow. I've now bought Route 66 for the smart phone & I reckon its brilliant. It seems very quick to find satelites (even f you changes states) & quick to change your route if you make a wrong turn etc. It does have a warning that tells you when you are driving into an area that may not be fully maped out just so you know it may not be accurate but so far, its been pretty well spot on. Certainly the best of 3 types I have used. Cost was better than Papago as well.
