  • Uniden IGO500 GPS at Officeworks

    Hi all,

I've come across this model which appears to be exclusive to Officeworks but haven't been able to find a lot of info on it.

A google search turned up this reference to the software on it but I haven't been able to find out if you can load other maps (i.e. HEMA or OziExplorer) on it yet.

Now it does have a MicroSD slot but I don't know if this is only for loading extra maps purchased via NaviExtras on it; Uniden haven't been much help so far. Is Primo 1.2 software any good?

you will need a GPS that runs windows CE to get Oziexplorer to work, dont think there's many around that do anymore.

Yes it seems only the Chinese GPS units off eBay use Windows CE as the OS. I was looking at the Uniden because I can get it at comparable prices to the Chinese units and it seems to have a nice interface and decent features for my mostly city based driving.

I know the Navman MY60T, 65T, & 75T will run HEMA maps (they are included with the 75T & optional on the others) but they are all superseded models now; the replacement 80T & 85XLT don't appear to support this feature.
