Memory-Map in iTunes

Has anyone else noticed Memory-Map isn't listed in iTunes anymore?
My program still runs (used it today up on rainbow beach) but I told my mate to look it up, and it wasn't there for him to get. Checked on mine, not there either...

Got an email from their technical support.

It's true. We submitted a new app for review before xmas but apple have such
a backlog that they took the old one down before putting up the new.
Hopefully it will be sorted quickly.

iPhone / iPad app not available from the AppStore
Unfortunately, Apple don’t like our app and have removed it from the AppStore pending some amendments.

As such we are scrambling to release a version that doesn’t have access to the Digital Map Shop (In the same way the Kindle app cannot access the Kindle book store) and apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

One workaround, if you're prepared to pay $10, is to buy the HEMA USA app. This has all the same features as the Memory-Map free app but comes with/includes a roadmap of the USA.

It's a shame as it's a great app. Im also unsure why Apple would have issues with them accessing the Map Store directly from the iPhone seeing as IOS5 is all about not needing a PC to manage the iPhone. Seems a little backwards...

I'm very happy with MM. I guess one thing to watch will be accepting updates that disable the map shop access- I like access to the map shop! You do have to wonder about companies like Apple knowing what is best for you....
