Reverse camera

I have purchased a sat nav unit from easy park in Sydney and can not get the reverse camera to work on my 150 series vx have checked the wiring from the Toyota wiring diagram can any one help

Does the reverse camera have a standard composite video connector on it? You could test the camera by plugging it into a TV or portable dvd player.

What do you mean by 'does not work'? Does the screen on the gps change when you select reverse?

I have checked the camera and it operates on a separate device, the unit does not display the reverse screen when revers is selected

So the display doesn't change at all when you select reverse?

In that case there is something wrong with the sense wiring. If you read up on the wiring diagram for your kit, there should be a wire that hooks into the reverse lights circuit. When you select reverse, the unit senses the voltage and switches to the camera display.

Other than that, I guess it might be a setting on the unit itself. Have you asked easy park about it?

Some guys have installed aftermarket head units, and the camera hasn't worked, they figured out that the Toyota camera runs a different voltage to the head unit. Something to check out

Peter there is a thread in the 150 section on aftermarket stereo installations, I have done up some pictures and instructions on what I did. I know some other members with GXL and VX's that have followed them with successful results. I'll post up a link in the next couple of days.
