    G'day Luis,
I haven't got a VMS but I can tell you thay there are cheap options than that. You can get a 7" navigation device on ebay that are from China that has simular features as the VMS for a fraction of the cost. Add oziexplorer and some topo maps and your good to go.
    Cheers, Terry.

Yes, just ask some really peeved members how good the cheap and nasty options are...

If I were getting one I would go with VMS or Polaris to avoid the disappointment and waste of "cheap" money to only have to replace it with something that is easy to use that works without having to get a chinese interpreter.

I haven't got the VMS 700 but have had the VMS Tourer with a 5" screen for about 5 years now, running Oziexplorer on it and it has been excellent - never missed a beat. The only regret I have was not getting the 7" version. I know quite a few people who have gone the cheap Chinese route and have invariably been disappointed. Anyway, that's my opinion, for what it's worth.

        Cheers

I've got a cheap 7" chinese one that has all the Aussie maps and Whereis street maps. Did the High Country recently with it and it did'nt miss a beat. I can buy 3 of these for the cost of one VMS or Hema Nav. For the price, I'm happy to buy another one if it dies. Too many people I know have had problems with VMS for my likeing. But ... everyone has a choice, cheap or expensive. Your call.

That's a fair call, Bazza. It's very much a question of choice and budget, and what you want it for. If you've heard of numerous complaints with VMS I must have been lucky....
