New Android Multimnedia/ Navigation System

Just bought a Nexus 7 and have mounted it in the car as per the photos below.

It automatically connects to the existing stereo via bluetooth and simultaneously connects to my phone which gives me a bunch of functions;
Pickup calls and dial numbers - using Table Talk app
Receive and send texts - using Table Talk app
Skype phone calls to land lines and mobiles - call quality is variable but okay
Skype calls
Navigation - Google maps and Androzic
Music & videos
Engine/vehicle data - using OBD11 Bluetooth and torque app
Live connection to GoPro camera - gopro app

The only thing that I haven't been able to do is to get it to act as a bluetooth handset for the phone.

Total cost including velcro $250.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. It looks very neat. How has it held up on rougher tracks? Is there any issue with it boucing on the lower surface? Any problem removing it to use the rear view camera or do you have a wifi'd camera hooked up!

Also - do you have any recommendation on an OBD2 scanner? Ebay is flooded with pretty generic looking units - are there any that are materially better than the pack?

Hi all, I have a question about android and navigation systems to use. I am looking at a Sony Xperia Z tablet. They are dust and water proof with inbuilt GPS. Also the girlfriend what to use it in here work as a paramedic so dust and water proof is a must. But they only come in WI-FI version. What is the most suitable app for navigating with this? I have never dealt with this stuff before so it is uncharted waters for me. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I have read a lot of threads on here and am now confused.

For free offline street navigation, look up MapFactor in the Play store. Doesn't provide the ability to search house numbers though which makes it a pain to find something on a long stretch of road.
