  • Problem with GPS Language...NEEED HELPPP!!!!

I have a toyota prado TZ, G selection 2005 model...I bought this model off the japanese market and then imported it to Pakistan, karachi where i currently reside. The thing is that i have no clue about the japanese language and cannot use the screen for almost 7 months since the jeep came...can anyone please guide me as to what should i do to get it in english or maybe there is a way to change the language from somewhere within the menu!

have a look at the thread on the 'toyota satnav' and maybe you can use the main menu to change it. it will be at your own peril though as the language may be respective to the disc you are using.

You cannot change it. Navi would not work either. For other functions beside Navi, if you take a pic of it I can read some kanji, and katagana.
      Thanks

I got the prado from japan which was slightly used, it was driven 20000 km before i laid my hands on it...and the next sad part is that i have no disc with it...i didn't get any disc with the navi...i can just see the symbols like air pressure and oil change and stuff like that but all in japanese or whichever language that must be!
        anyways thanks alot.

Oh thanks, if u can somehow translate that into english it would be a little use...i would really appreciate it...right now i am out of the city and i will return on 26-27 december..so as soon as i do i sure will send the pics to you...oh and about the navi, it doesnt work in paksitan, i have to install a standalone navi device in my car for that which costs around $3000...so im not spending that much money on just a navi...ill become my own navigator for that
          Thanks alot for the reply

            satnav

            Hello sasha,

I have the same problem, of-course, imported the car from japan, and the TV and menu & satnav is all in Japanese. During my search for thsi problem i downloaded the manual for the land cruiser, and that's in english. It contains all the details for the landcruiser satnav and I checked on mine , it seems to be the same. It's in pdf format, so if you still need it , jsut email me on [email protected] and i'll email the pdf doc. to your email. I think that would help you figure out what all those buttons are all about.
As for me, I'm selling off my Prado, since I have to leave Pakistan. I haven't even had the time to drive it !!
