I was bored. So another project for me. The stupid magellan XL can only track upto 2000 legs nothing more. You can have many 2000 tracks on SD but nothing bigger, so if I wanted to track log from sydney to simspon ....forget it. It won't even last to melbourne.
To overcome this, I used one of those nano itx board which I had and installed Mapsend lite on it. Now I can track as many legs as I wanted. I tried a 28MB log (that is from sydney to almost papa new ginea) .....so cool. Only bad thing is it cannot be done in 3D as the computer wakes up after hibernation, mapsend crashes.
The mini pc is tiny. 12cmx12cmx6cm thick. It is 800Mhz with 1GB of ram. The PC will wake up from hibernate with acessory power, hibernates again when accessory is off. All automatic.
I shoved in into between the 2 computers on the left hand side of the glove box.
