Would you be able to post a photo of how far the 9" arm sticks out from the window for me? Pretty sure I've purchased the 6" arm w/ single cup which from my measurements should sit in line with the headunit etc

My apologies Rorza. I've given you a bum steer. It's 9" including the bases at either end. The arm is 6".
Can you see it ok here? This is where it normally lives in the Hiace

Cheers BlakMoth. Gives me a bit of an idea. Looking forward to getting mine, think it's exactly the same except I'll have the X-Grip attachment to hold the tablet.

        Cheers

Hi maulbeagle. If by software you mean what map app I'm running that would be HEMA Explorer on a Samsung Tab 4 10. I tried Androzic but had dramas getting it to work so got rid of that and just solely use HEMA now, I've only recorded one trip and haven't tried using it for navigation purposes just yet, but hopefully soon I will get a chance.

My only gripe with these RAM mounts, which I would also consider their strength, is their inability to move once all the screws are tightened, so make sure you've got it in the best position for while you're driving as you'll have to stop to reorganise it.

The X-grip attachment from RAM mounts is sturdier than it looks and really holds the tablet in place. Definitely recommend them.

thanks rorza. any chance of some photos of the mount ? I've been looking at RAM, and thinking the x-grip and 6" double ball socket arm, not sure on whether to get a suction cup ball mount base or screw a ball mount base down somewhere ?
