I got the HN7 which also gives you the app for a PC (Windows) but the included maps are only ok for road driving , not for slower/rougher tracks.
The Hema uses 1:250,000 scale maps.
I had intended to scan some of my 1:25,000 maps and use them also as reports online seemed to say you can do that.
But I fould that the Hema version of OziExplorer is cut down and that function is one that is not supported. You have to buy the "Full" OziEplorer for your PC to be able to scan and calibrate paper maps..
Hema replied to my query..

Hi Steve,
No, the Hema Navigator Explorer PC software supplied with the Navigator does not perform these functions. To do what you are suggesting, you would require the full version of OziExplorer (http://www.oziexplorer.com).
Hope this helps...
I have ordered additional digital maps at 1:100,000 and will see how they go for the extra detail I want... otherwise it is back to the paper maps for "Off" road tracking.
