If you have your GPS data file available, would you mind posting it also?
LFaR.
Now... this is the second time I've been asked this... and like the first time... I dunno how ops:
What is it (as in what file am I looking for) and where do I find it
Cheers, Leon There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!

Re: TRIP REPORT : SEQ Mt Mee Day Trip - Sunday 1/03
How to do it largely depends on your GPS unit. Though, since you have uploaded it to the web to produce your overlay, I would imagine it's just a simple (famous last words) matter of exporting it to a file on your PeeCee rather than to google.
In my case, I have a Garmin and use Garmin's MapSource software to transfer info between my PeeCee and the Garmin. Other units use straight USB-Drive behaviour and transfer files that way.

Your GPS also records altitude, so for kicks, I took a look at the track profile... Was it really as steep as what this indicates?? :!: I know GPS don't produced the most accurate altitude measurements, but still, I've found them to be adequate.
The yellow dots represent each of the recorded track points. A couple of quantum steps in altitude there too.
Can't recall any sheer drops 8) but I'd say it's a fair indication...
Here's a shot of Kel last time we were up there on one of the steep sections.

Watch your vertical exageration LFAR.The graph has roughly 180m:5000m scale.
A 1:1 ratio would provide a much better illustration of ground truth relief.
Also re GPS altitude data, XY relief graphs accuracy can be significantly increased through calculating in a "smooth" using each sample point EPE.
Good point Spurio. Next time, I'll look for a scaling option in MapSource.
I don't understand your second point about how to increase the accuracy. Is that something I can do in post-production or is it more to do with how the GPS captures the altitude data? Can you expand on that some more? I'd like to learn more about this.
