That's good but I don't have a PC to run it on so I'll have to pinch others until I get virtual PC up and running. Thanks.

The latest version of OziCE does not require ozf3 format maps and can use most types, including the very common ECW format. On less capable units this may slow things down (On my hp4700 it becomes almost unusable due to memory limitations) but on the units discussed here it should all work fine without converting.

Using the Ozf3 format offers much faster loading and better zooms... the ECW format will be virtually unuseable on any PND, they just don't have the processing power.

What about large map files? I have one of the SATopo series 1:50k that converts to a 400mb or so .ozf3 Should I try and bust it up into smaller files?

If it fits into your memory card OK then no problems. OZF files are loaded in tiles, so only the tiles that are required are loaded at any one time.

If you want/need to break it up you can use Mapmerge, which is free on the OziE site. Despite its name you can also use it to cut up files and it will produce the .MAP file for the cut up sections.

Im having MAJOR problems with this set by step instructions. Ive got as far as removing the Moblie Navigator from the operating system to the SD card. Take it out no probs and putting it back in all works. Removed the SD card and instal new SD card, loaded my Ozi Explorer (via Active Sync) followed the instruction about reinstalling and all I get is Error and it just jams up. There are a few missing steps in theses instructions. Im doing my head in, can any body help. No cyber nerd here.

Install the OziExplorer folder onto the SD card and then rename it "MobileNavigator"
Open this folder and find the OziExplorer application and also rename it "MobileNavigator"

This is now your "Off road" navigation card.

No matter which card you have in, pressing "Navigation" on the Navigation/Menu screen will open the software on the inserted SD card.

Try Ozi Explorer from a CD, try again. ERROR, what the? HELP, im lossing more hair.

You have the original street navigation software running off a SD card so you're half way there. When you put OziExplorerCE on your "Off road" card are you renaming it (Folder and the .exe file) to "MobileNavigator"?

Also, have you downloaded the correct version of OziExplorerCE?

I've also replyed to your PM, will get in touch with you when I get back to Adelaide later this week.

                          Yeh cheers Mick,
PMd you with details of what happened. Ive lost all navigation from the SD card and ended up reformated into a document and now lives only in the multi media files and does not run. Ozi didnt work for me and Hemas not reading it either. Ive messed it up somewhere, and almost chucked the damm thing,

Hi guys, I have a few quick questions to the guys that have used this Binatone GPS for a while now.

Are you guys happy with the overall performance of this unit?
Would you buy this unit again if in the same situation?
Any problems with the reliability of the unit?

I see Big W has them on special again for $168 and I'm considering getting one of these.

as a GPS it is cheap, as a screen for running Ozi it is briliant.
On the GTG trip the only issue i had was when traveling faster than 80km/h the snail trail on OZI wouldnt save, not sure if that is an issue with ozi its self or if the gps is slow. Didnt realy bother me as i had my hand held GPS to record the track.

Ok got navigation as when purchased (thanks MickL) although I still have the nav program in document form (strange). Even tryed to upload to new SD card and its still there. Anyhow ill live with it. Queastion is now with Oziexplorer, does the program have to be a purchased one from the site or will a copy work? Do hema map copies work with Ozi or will I have to purchase theses as well?
