Re: Sub $200 4.3" GPS Navigator (from Big W)

Here I am with another attachment of useless instructions from Ozi. I just dont get it, they make it sound so simple. Just do this and that, wha laa there you go, $40 thank you very much. Ok as in last post, not the sharpest. Heh at least im trying, alas getting nowhere. Still considering sending this expensive $40 A4 pages back to them. They really dont make this easy, maybe I should have done a degree in computers instead of becoming an Electrician. God kwows how many folks like me stuggle with this, they must put your name in the too hard basket with pre programmed email responses. Id be great if they did a instal on You tube of something. Youre proberly sick of me having a whinge, yeh I hear you. But the thing is I dont happen to have problems in other areas related to offroading. Just like to make myself feel a bit better about this, sorry.

SD card went in our mail today and should get cleared first thing, so in a couple of days hopefully you should be right. I also put the HEMA Great Desert Tracks maps on to get you started too.

just in case it's not clear, the code they sent you goes into the OziCE program once you get it up and running (ie. when you put Micks SD card in your GPS and turn it on). I think it will prompt you for it when you fire it up the 1st time. Without the code, OziCE stops recording after 5mins or so. You can hit the satellite icon which gets it going again but that becomes old very quick, which is why you forked out your $40.

          Cheers, Nige

Ive got some maps that id like to add to my SD card. One problem the disc contains 3.5GB of memory (i only have a 2GB SD card ATM). This plus the other maps and Ozi program included your looking around 5GB + of memory required for this to run with full mapping. Does anybody know if this unit will cope with a larger SD card, thinking around 8GB should be enough to store all the maps that I have. Ive discovered there is also 16GB and 32GB cards avaliable, but there too bit anyhow.

Ok i cant fit the entire CD of maps onto one SD, mainly because the biggest SD card you can buy is a 2GB. I bought a 8GB SDHC card and the GPS would not accept it, so I took it back and bought 4x 2GB cards that where on sale for $9 ea. Im still in the process of trying to workout if im doing this right, i thought i had it sorted last night but when i tested it the maps didnt come up.

I would assume that it would. Just try it. Just back up what you have so you can return it to standard if you have too.

OziCE is a free downlaod as a demo version so you won't be out of pocket if it doesn't work.
