As my name suggests, Im not getting the same files to open as in your picture. Right from frame 1 I didnt even get that to come up.
Will get my partner to have a look when she wakes up. Im getting a few files that are asking to be "unzipped"???? ops:
Excellent tutorial though and looking forward to getting my GPS later this week...fingers crossed it gets here then.
 I cant even download this let alone run the bloody thing....lots of fiddling ahead to learn.
Thanks for that, I hope to get the machine by Friday (fingers crossed) and hope to be able to say I put it in myself....BUT...I certainly will be asking if I get stuck mate. Till I ask it to upload Im guessing I wont really know what I havent downloaded properly. I also have a sneaky idea that the things are there alright, but, with my complete computer knowledge I have no doubt I have hidden them some where else. ops:
I have installed my GPS receiver BU-353 but cannot sync it with ozi explorer.
Have followed the tutorials and manuals but keep getting the following error messages, 1. Error opening com port, and 2. Cannot initialise communications.
Any word of advice?
Cheers,

If you go to the OziExplorer web page and then to the utilities page you will find a link to a "port checker" Install and run this with your GPS operating and it will find the GPS and its speed. Enter these details into the OziE configuration file and you should be right.

I tried to use StitchMaps to use Google Earth images as the maps, but when it came to loading the map in CE it kept crashing my satnav. I just tried NoniMapView and all seems to be working very well.
Without looking too deep, StitchMaps may have crashed the CE version due to my cardreader dying around the time I copied the maps onto my microSD card. I purchased another reader and tried Noni with no problems.

I use Nonimapview a fair bit and think it is great. Found another couple of tools as wellthat work in a simillar way. One of them was half in Russian (I think) and gave options for about twetny or thirty odd other map sources alough maily for European maps. I will have a look tonight and see if I can find out what the two tools are.
Another one I've played with is gmapmaker
similar to noni but you need to know what your coordinates are going to be, unlike noni where you can just make the box over the area you want. the gmapmaker seems to be a bit quicker though, not sure if it is my imagination or not.
