  • Mac solutions for mapping software?

I'm not expecting a huge influx of help here but was wondering if any mac users who are not running parallels have found a decent mapping solution?
I've found one person doing it through another linux OS and someone suggested this american software but I was hoping there might be something a bit more suited to a) Australia - where I can put ready made maps into it & b) a non-intel mac which wouldn't require changing too much??
I believe it's possible to run oziexplorer on a PC emulator which is what I may end up doing. Has anyone tried/is doing this?
    Thanks
    Cheers - Phil Taylor

I've been running MacGPSPro for a couple of months on a MacBookPro using a Garmin MAPGPS 76Cx and Fishfinder 250 sounder combining the NMEA sentences using a multiplexor. Admittingly its for underwater habitat mapping using video but it works fine for plotting. You can download georeferenced topos (free & purchase) from geosciences australia (www.ga.gov.au).

Re: Mac solutions for mapping software?

          G'day.
I'm running VMware Fusion with windows xp platform.
Within this I can play around with ozi explorer and anything else that requires windows.
A problemI encountered was that I could not get my gps receiver (BU-353) to sync with O/Explorer. Probably not a VMWare issue... seperate post.

          Cheers.
