    Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

Sorry for the delayed reply all, work gets in the way sometimes.

Oldsalt - No idea why the update didn't show up in your gmail account, it was sent ages ago.

Anyhow, I've loaded the update to http://members.iinet.net.au/~jah/4wd/sys_update.zip

Unzip the contents to a directory on your computer. There is a word document with instructions
to follow. The ching-lish isn't too hard to understand. A fairly simple procedure anyhow.

I hope it works for you all.

      Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

Thanks for going to all the trouble John.

It's a pity it didn't work for me.

I was thinking about buying an in-dash unit from dig_options, however, I have been put off buying what could turn out to be more crap from ebay.

I have bought two in-dash DVD/TV/CD etc units from ebay for two of my past cars, I live in rural SA and couldn't get any AM stations on either of them.

Any anyone report on their dig_options purchases, AM and FM stations OK when about 200k's from the big smoke?

Any problems at all with the unit's Navigation etc.

        Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

Mines going well, it would want to, it's been only two weeks. Running Ozi is no drama, just change the default Nav program in the settings menu. Can't get the ipod to work, though I can play MP3's using the USB cable to a thumb drive. But not MP4 music files, that could be the drama with the ipod. Bluetooth works very well, it's a good thing so far for the $700 odd outlay. Don't know about the radio reception yet, can't see why it would be any different with the Prado's crappy antenna. Now I need some tyres, funny how it's easier to use a credit card, than part with hard cash .

Are those Navlinks also called Navsoons? Here is a forum which may help you guys out: http://www.gpsmodding.com/

You must have been in the Puss Oldsalt, I work for them too.

Edit: My E-bay GPS was stopped as well. Will try the update.

Yes mate an old sea dog AB QMG.

You should visit our forum www.tri-service.org the members are not all oldies.

I bit the bullet and bought one from dig_options in Melbourne.

I was surprised as they are Aussies, their communications are great, very quick with all the answers and suggestions.

They told me to double check the size as some Prado radios are 197x100mm and others are 200x100mm, it's not much of a difference, however, my measurement ended up 200x100mm.

The person I have been dealing with is Donna [email protected] MOBILE: 0402 911 111

Seems like a very nice person, not your usual EBay seller type.

            Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

I ran the update and now my Navlink is back in business so I'm wrapped with that, thanks John. I had our upcoming trip to Rudall River all loaded into Oziexplorer and was starting to think I had wasted my time and money but now its all good again.

                    Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

It seems that you may have to run the update a couple of times in some instances to get it to work.

                      Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

Mine stopped on Sunday as well!!! After much frustration, research and no reply's from seller or manufacturer i have to say, John you have saved the day. I was getting worried that i wouldn't have a GPS for my next trip in a couple of weeks.

The update worked a treat. But does it also have a time limit on it as well? :?

                      Cheers

                        Re: Any Problems with Navlinks?

Oldsalt, the unit fits straight in like a factory unit. I doubt a grease monkey at the Toyota Shop would even realise it's not a factory job.

The Toyota emblem etc they must have loaded on, but I am happy with it. Sounds good too.
