I noticed with the change of daylight savings yesterday, the GPS time did not update any ideas!!!
Same here, and there is no suitible time zone in the settings (ie GMT +10.5 hrs) to trick it to change either.

Also I've noticed if I don't use the GPS for 3 or 4 days it loses the time zone setting and defaults back to GMT

I've also had the Igo software crash twice due to "insuffient memory" when having to recalculate the route several times in a short period of time.

Looks like there are a few bugs to iron out in the Igo8 software.

      Hi Randy,
Please PM me if the problem persists and we'll try another GPS antenna. A strange as it sounds, when it's trying to locate satellites, try holding the antenna in your hand. This may make a difference and if it does, we will know it's the antenna. I'm off to China this Friday to meet with my supplier and attend 3 trade fairs.

Just on that, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions as to what I could look out for in China. If you've got suggestions I'd love to hear them. Please PM or email me [email protected].

      Thanks again,

Most ipods will work, the key is whether or not they charge. You need an ipod that supports firewire, check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipod#Timel ... Pod_models
This is not necesssarily an older ipod (mine is a brand new classic but it still supports firewire) the new nanos wont work and nor will the iphones or touches

Why apple decided to mess with this is a mystery.

              Hi Fozzy,

My understanding is that the TP09X1 is able to read media directly from the USB cable and since that device you should supports USB then effectiverly it should be possible to read content from the HDD supported within the device. The downside is it looks rather bulky for what would really only be used as a portable harddisk. Would be better looking at small a portable hard disk with perhaps 500Gb capacity and connect this via the USB. The TP09X1 I also believe only supports connection via a male USB-B connector.

Since I don't have a TP09X1 then I could sort of be talking out my ....

                Nick,

Understand your comment re portable HDD, I'm going to get one to back up all of our PC files in the near future. Irrespective of that, I bit the bullet and ordered one of these media players for home anyway, so when it arrives I'll have a play and provide some feedback. The trouble with all this gear is that once I go down a path, it's an ever increasing circle. Just one more item, just one more item....

I have the TViX R-2230 media player with HD tuner and recorder. It takes 2.5" notebook hard drives. I decided to get this because it would be more reliable in the car as notebook hard drives can withstand shock and vibration more than 3.5" desktop hard drives.

OK, I've had some success fixing this. The time zone settings can be edited within the Igo8 Data files.

With your SD card in your PC go to:

                    Igo8 Australia PNA/Igo8/DATA Zip/Config/timezones.ini

This is a text file, scroll down to the "Adelaide" line and edit as required (the format is at the top of the page)

                    For SA it should read:

                    timezone = "(GMT+09:30) Adelaide", -570, -60, 0, 0, 10, 0, 1, 2, 0, 0, 0, 0, 4, 0, 1, 3, 0, 0, 0

I fitted the TP09X1 system last weekend.

Couple of things I noticed on my 2006 GLX 3.0l TD.

There was no reverse camera wiring in the vehicle,
I also noticed the plug behind the dash shown in the earlier photos as the reverse camera wiring,
is actually my rear speaker wires and connector.
(wire colours and plug was identical to plug and wire colours shown as reverse camera wiring in earlier photos)
I noticed it was plugged into the old unit so thought it couldn't be the reverse camera wiring.. I also noticed it needed to plug into the new unit and matched the rear speaker outputs..

Just thought this might help some people, when doing there install if your vehicle is like mine.
and thanks to everyone for the info posted it made the job alot easier..

One other thing I noticed was a second smaller antenna plug and wire that wasn't plugged into anything.
anyone know what this plug was / is for?

                      Thanks

That look's cool Mick. On my PDA GPS there is no option for the correct time zone on iGo 8.0 or 8.3 so assume it it standard ignorance on their behalf. My work around was to NOT have iGo update but to use OziExplorer and that seemed to deal with the time correctly. But I will update the config to at least see how she runs.

Got me thinking... does the TP09X1... Power up Pin 8 for the active antenna's?

Pins 8 and 9 are connected to the same wire out on the TP09X1 (auto antenna(the blue wire)) which provides around 8v when the unit is turned to Radio.

Installed my unit on the weekend and its working a treat. Big shout out to the folks here on this thread. As a rank amateur without your instructions and pictures I would never have been able to do the install myself.

The only thing I'm having an issue with is the microphone when attempting to use bluetooth. I can hear people fine but they can't hear me at all. Anyone come across this before?

I didn't bother installing the ipod cable since my iPhone plays music perfectly over bluetooth which I think is great. Fewer cables the better.

I'm trying out iGO8 8.3.2.xxxx with the 2008Q3 navteq maps but initial impressions are I might go back to 8.0 since it seems to perform more smoothly than the 8.3.2 release.

I'll setup OzExplorer later in the week. I'll also be adding the Digibox to it when Matt gets some in stock.

Just after a little help before I bother Matt & Donna. I have had my TP09X1 installed now for about 3 months and it has been great. We even did a trip to Uluru and all went well. I jumped into the car on Monday morning and everything fired up well except for the Navigation. This is the first time that it has even done this. What happens is the GPS screen appears and begins to load (pic of a car with the blue bar loading at the bottom of the screen). The blue loading bar goes all the way to the end and nothing else happens. The navigation program does not seem to complete loading and I cannot access any navigation. Does anybody know how to rectify this, or is it an internal software problem?? I have disconnected the unit from the power and reconnected it but it still does the same. I have also removed and reinstalled the GPS antennae and the micro SD card without joy. Can someone shed any light on this please??????? :?

                                Have you tried RESETTING...

I had a funny lock up and when I went to set the location and then run... It would hang and tell me another copy was already being run.

Had to do a couple of resets and then all was fine..

BE AWARE.. Resetting will clear your radio stations and you will have to set them up again..

Also check that the SD card is able to be read on ya PC...

Let us know how ya go...
